The Seven Seals: Their Meaning and Nature

As each seal is opened, we get what can be considered as a glimpse, a snapshot of what the rest of the scroll contains. In other words, the events that occur when a seal is broken is not to be considered the scroll’s contents. Instead, each broken seal should be likened to an outline or chapters of a book. I’m saying that the scroll remains closed until all the seals are broken. At that point the scroll is opened to reveal its contents.

Overall, the seven-sealed scroll contains the flow of this world’s progression, and especially as it pertains to the history and future of God’s people. Therefore, the seven seals, themselves, also covers the span of time from the cross to Jesus’ return.
