Christ Did Not End The Law

If someone cites Romans 10: 4 and tells you that it means the Law ended with Jesus, it’s probably because that person isn’t familiar with the meaning of the Greek word from which the word ”end” is translated. Here’s the passage.

“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

The Greek word for “end” is “telos.” It means “to an end, something has been accomplished, completed, or fulfilled.” That’s why the apostle Paul can say in Romans 3: 31, “Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.”

A close look at the context of Romans 10: 4 doesn’t show Jesus abolishing the Law. It shows Jesus as the fulfillment; the exemplar of the law’s righteousness. Consequently, the righteousness of the Law is then established in the believer. That means the believer’s life, like that of Jesus’ life, looks like the law because the law becomes the believer’s character.

How so? In the new covenant, the Law is written on the believer’s heart as opposed to the old covenant having it written on stone.

So don’t listen to the person who says the Law is abolished. For to do so, and agree, is to with that person call Jesus a liar. Jesus said, “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.” Matthew 5: 17.

I’ve noticed that every time someone teaches or claims that the Law has been done away with, it’s because they want to get around having to admit that they have consciously ignored and rejected the 4th commandment.

However, though they say the commandments have been nailed to the cross, replaced by grace, they stubbornly cling to and teach the responsibility of living the righteousness of the other nine commandments. What’s up with that?

“Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5: 19.

I’m not going to go into all the details of why the 4th commandment and the others aren’t abolished. Discover for yourself the historic, satanic organization that first attacked God’s Law by thinking to change it; thereby creating the slippery slope from which was established the man-made tradition of declaring the commandments null and void.

You can read how most Christians came to be and have remained spellbound by this trickery for centuries. The details are in my book The Three Angels’ Message: God’s End-Time Warning (advertised on this page). Check it out for its biblical insight into the greatest hoax cast upon the people of God.
