Another Tragedy
by Deborah Ann Belka

Another tragedy . . .
has rocked across our nation
another senseless crime
has gotten our undivided attention.

As a country we stand in shock,
at the horror in front of us
and some say we suffer
because in God we no longer trust.

I have seen throughout the years,
the falling away of the masses
when from the Ten Commandments
we stopped following their passages.

It is true ~ we asked God to leave,
our country a long time ago
and all of His blessings . . .
we were willing to forgo.

In our pride we took Him out,
of each courtroom and every school
and now we live without teaching
or practicing the golden rule.

Another tragedy . . .
why is our nation in shock?
Maybe it is time we look back
and take our lack of faith into stock.

2 Chronicles 7:14

King James Version

” If my people, which are called by my name,

 shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek

 my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

 then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive

 their sin, and will heal their land.”

The Prayer of Salvation by Deborah Ann Belka

The prayer of salvation,
lies in everybody’s heart
but so few are willing
to heed and do their part.

Their hearts are icy cold,
with hard and stony places
so they deny the true God
and the need for His graces.

They’d rather look away,
than to recognize their sin
and they defiantly refuse
to let Jesus enter in.

But, God never gives up,
on the rebellious heart
and there is always hope
they won’t forever be apart.

So if you are the one,
God is speaking to today
it is my heartfelt desire
this prayer you will pray.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws
and my sins have separated me from you.
I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away
from my past sinful life toward you.
Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.
I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins,
was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer.
I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life,
to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.
Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You,
and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
John 3:16
King James Version
” For God so loved the world, that he gave his
 only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
 in him should not perish, but have everlasting
 life.”
